The 30th of September Eusko Retro Asociacion organized the VI. Basque Country 3DO Panasonic Tournament. We played in a new 3DO Championship 7 months after the previous one. This time 6 players participated: Daniel Barrientos, Iker Lorente, Maximo Kulachenok, Egoitz Campo, Arrate Elorrieta and Mikel Torde. This time we met in bar “Almirante”, in San Ignacio, Bilbao (Basque Country).
It was a good tournament. We played three games: Street Fighter II Turbo, Starblade and Wolfenstein 3D. We played Street Fighter II Turbo individually and at the highest level as always. I don’t have a second controller, so we need to do it that way. Then we played another classic game in our tournament, Starblade. A very good game graphically where we must destroy all the enemy ships and bombs launched at us that constantly put us in danger.
Finally, we played Wolfenstein 3D, a magnificent World War II-themed shooter. We played at the highest level and kept going until we lost our first life. In the end, Egoitz achieved the highest score and won this Basque 3DO tournament, though everyone found the console interesting and the games fun and cool. The plan is to buy new games for the Basque 3DO tournament we aim to hold again in February 2027, if everything goes well.
