Basque Country 3DO Tournament 4

IV.Basque Country 3DO Panasonic Tournament 2025

On the 12th of august, Eusko Retro Asociacion organized the IV. Basque Country 3DO Panasonic Tournament. We played a new 3DO Championship 7 month later the previous one. This time 6 players participated: Daniel, Joseba, Álvaro, Jon Ander Gil, Samuel and Egoitz We met in “Café Berri”, a bar that is located in Santutxu (Bilbao, Basque Country).

After playing the Amstrad CPC 464 and Intellivision we put on the TV this great console from 90s: the 3DO Panasonic. We chose three good games: Starblade, Street Fighter II Turbo, and Pebble Golf Beach Links.

First, we played Street Fighter II Turbo individually and at the highest level. Since we don’t have the second controller yet, we played individually. We love a lot the music of this game, it is fantastic. Joseba played very well and got more points than the rest.

Then we played a new game; Starblade. A very good game graphically where for a few minutes where we have to destroy all the star ships that fly around us. Egoitz got more points than the rest but Daniel did a good job.

Finally we put a game about Golf (Pebble Golf Beach Links) and and since we were short on time, we played just one hole. Egoitz managed to sink the ball with fewer strokes than the others, but Joseba and Samuel did very well. The afternoon was lovely, and we hope that next time more people will be able to bring new games. If all goes well, we’ll host the 5th Basque Country 3DO Panasonic Championship in April 2026.
